About this chick…

So you’ve stumbled on this brand new ‘chicken blog’ and you’re wondering what it’s all about, right?

Or maybe you’re not.

To be honest with you, I am.

Little Dude becomes the proud owner of baby chicks.

I’m a forty year old farmer’s daughter who hasn’t been on the farm in twenty years.  Now, after years of being a loyal Navy wife, soccer mom and media center volunteer, I’m back on the farm.  Only this time, instead of the dairy cows I grew up raising, we’re doing chickens.  Because that’s what my husband knows.

Except it’s not him raising them.  It’s me… with a little help from my Little Dude.  He’s 8, and in between school, baseball practice, games (coming soon!) and cleaning his room, he’s going to be joining me on this journey to becoming a chicken farmer.

I hope you join us, too!

  1. We have some things in common… I was a military wife (Army) for 21 years and also grew up on a dairy farm. We may have left the farm, but the farm never left us, right?!

    1. They have that saying… You can take the girl out of the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the girl. It’s definitely true in my case! We have a long way to go before it’s ready for more than chickens but we’re gaining little by little.

  3. Thanks for following my blog! I hope if you can find the time that you will stop by my page called “Reasons to Smile” and leave a comment. It’s a list of things people are thankful for, just to encourage each other. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
